We're not sure what, but something's going on!

It is Monday morning and our normal "work day" routine is all out of whack. We usually get two days with Mom and Dad home and then they leave to go to "work" - whatever that is. But this morning, something is different. Normally by now we have scouted the house several times for something to get in to (although it's been a few years since we've actually found something. We think they're on to us!), run the squirrels off our property, and played a couple hours of "Give Me the ball"...but today is different, something's going on. For some reason Mom is still home. We have sniffed her thoroughly and she doesn't appear to be sick, and she's not sleeping, so we can't figure it out. Dad got up this morning and left at his normal time, but not Mom. I think that it has something to do with the abnormal growth on Mom's tummy. She keeps telling me that I need to diet? She should go to the vet and have someone cut back on her food!! Jack says he thinks that she is just staying home because she wants to pet him all day....either of us could be right. But I really don't think Jack has ever had a thought at all, much less a correct one.

Both Mom and Dad keep talking about our new brother "Landon", which sounds interesting. We are wondering what breed he'll be....Jack is pulling for a Bulldog (so Jack will still be the biggest), but I am pulling for a Mastiff (so he can help take on Jack)...either way, "Landon" should be fun! One thing that we are a bit confused on is that Mom and Dad built him his own room....neither of us got our own room when we got here! And he gets all these cool toys...hopefully he'll be willing to share. Also, it doesn't appear that Mom and Dad are expecting him to be house trained right away. They have stocked up on some really interesting items for "Landon" called diapers! They smell fascinating!!

Well...we don't really know what to expect, but I guess we'll keep our noses on full alert, and wait and see. It should be fun to show a new pup the ropes, as long as he understands which food bowl is ours and which is his!

We'll post more when we know something...in the meantime, watch out for squirrels (they constantly tease us) and cats (they can't be trusted) and rest whenever possible!

That is such a cute posting! I'm sure they definitely know their little world is about to change. I bet they will be very curious about little Landon and maybe even a little jealous...

Yeah, we're very interested to see how they handle the baby. We're going to do our best to make sure they still feel involved in everything, and our son is sure going to love dogs...he'll have two big ones in his face pretty much 24/7! We're just hoping they don't gain too much weight from all the food he'll be droppping, or they'll be stealing from him! :)

Interesting story. Is Jack's pen name Einstein? He seems oddly familiar from to a Dean Koontz Novel.....Watchers. Cool pics. I think they are going to love Landon. It may take a little while for them to get past all the attention everyone will be placing on Landon though. One word of advise, don't let Landon stay on the ground with any crumbs on or near him. Guiness and Jack may not be able to control them selves....

Hmmm...never really thought about that...we were going to just leave him on the ground most of the time, and we WERE going to cover him in chocolate sauce, but I guess we'll have to rethink that strategy!

We've been talking about the Chocolate Sauce Strategy here at the store and we think that it might be a nice way for Landon to bond with Guiness and Jack~I say go for it.
