1st Ever Sick Day

Hey All,

This will be a fairly short post, but I wanted to put something up for you to read today...this week has been insanely busy for both Michaela and I. My new job is working out to be great, but it's definitely keeping me longer hours than we were used to....

Landon had his second round of shots on Tuesday and came through with flying colors again...of course the shots hurt, but he was a real trooper and didn't cry for long...he did develop a fever for a day or two (which is normal), but his fever has since disappeared.

Landon also started daycare on Monday. So far, so good. I get to drop him off every morning and the ladies that work there all adore him. He is just such a happy baby that he brings a smile to everyone's face. Michaela picks him up every day and she always tells me about the fun stuff that he was able to do that day. He's particularly fascinated with watching other babies crawl, walk, and eat...we're hoping that he'll get the bug to start trying himself soon!

As for the title of today's post, Landon got to take his first ever sick day yesterday....yes, this is only his first week of daycare, but they are very strict about not keeping babies that are sick...there are enough germs running around those places as is, and the last thing that they need is a bunch of sick babies on their hands! Anyhow, Landon must have caught some kind of a bug, as he's got a very congested little nose. It's been tough because he usually breathes through his nose while he eats and while he sleeps....he's been able to work around the problem while eating so far, but the sleeping thing has been a hassle...he wakes up at all hours of the night coughing and snorting...we both feel so bad that we can't do more for him, but the doctor assures us that this will pass soon....fingers crossed!

So that's pretty much all that's going on in the Burgess household right now. We're all really looking forward to the weekend. This is the first weekend in a long time that it's just been the 3 of us in the house, so we're going to try to get in a decent amount of family time...I'm also going to continue my battle against the front yard...
