Summer Fun

Hola,

This past weekend was wonderful, and we topped it off with an excellent Father's Day. I spent the morning getting in plenty of time with Landon and Michaela. As the day moved along, I got a chance to spend time watching US Open golf with my Dad and Landon, and then in the afternoon my sister Nicole and my Dad's parents came over for dinner. We grilled up some Italian sausages and had a great time. Landon was his typical crazy self, bouncing off the walls and putting his funny antics on full display for the family. At one point we managed to snap this picture of 4 generations of Burgess men. This could (and probably will eventually) change, but as of now, Landon is the only great grandchild (out of the 8 on my Dad's side) that will pass along the Burgess name...so it was kind of a fun picture. By the way, that Arizona hat that I'm wearing in the picture was part of my Father's Day gift....go Cats!!

All in all, I had a perfect Father's Day and I wanted to give a big "Thank You" to my wonderful wife and my awesome child for making it so.

Here's a funny picture that I wanted to share...it's Landon reading in his chair...Landon absolutely loves books, and if we were only going to have one toy for him to take with him it would be a book. His big thing lately has been for him to sit and point at EVERY picture in EVERY book, and say "Dada, Dada, Dada" until I tell him what the picture is. Then he smiles and moves on to the next one...it's really cute, but can wear you down after the 15th book...As for the picture, can you tell what book he has? If you guessed the Bible, then you're right! While he's too young to read, he does love looking at the pictures and there are some pretty good ones that particular page-turner. I tried to get him to sit down with Harry Potter instead, but alas...no pictures!

As for this week, Summer is officially upon us now. It was a nice weekend weather wise (temperatures in the mid 80's), but the weather has ramped up significantly in the past few days hitting the very high 90's. To stay cool during the dog days of summer, we recently got Landon a water table. For those of you that don't know, it literally is just a little plastic table that you can fill with water and a few toys and the kids just eat it up. As we all know that Landon loves water (see: Bath, Pool, or Dog Water Bowls), we were pretty sure that this would be a success...and we weren't let down!

It starts off with him just checking things out. At one point the dogs came by and drank some of the water...which was bad news, as Landon thought "well, if THEY can do it..."

After he drank his fill, it occurred to him that the table is filled with water, just like a bath or pool...and he likes to play IN the bath and pool, so it was time to climb.....

Once he got in, it was all giggles and splashes....he really had a great time in there!

And towards the end of his playtime, he realized that his clothes were just too wet...he quickly had had enough of them and decided to finish off the day playing in his birthday suit (this picture turned out a little funny due to some glare issues)...
