It has been quite a busy week for this Burgess clan...we've also had all the symptoms of the
coming Spring and Winter's last gasp...including a very sore throat (Michaela), a runny nose (Landon), and some very itchy eyes (Dustin)...But we made it through them all and found ourselves smack in the middle of a beautiful Easter weekend. The weather was great, we were able to get quite a few things done, and ended up getting the chance to visit with family on Easter Sunday.

It seems like
it was just a few short months ago that we were bringing Landon home from the hospital (which came one week before Easter last year), but now it's a year later, and Landon is a totally different child. If you need proof, here's our Easter picture from last year...we had only been parents for one week (notice the lack of bags under our eyes?), and Landon coud actually fit in the Easter basket! And here's a recent Easter picture from this year...and yes, that is the exact same basket! It's amazing just how quickly they grow, isn't it?

It's amazing just how quickly they grow, isn't it?Speaking of how fast they grow, Landon is tall enough, and has now figured out how to open
doors...so it's official, no place is safe...so far his favorite doors to open are the bathroom doors...but only when someone is inside using them. :)
We've also been working on our ABC's...he has these foam letters that we play with during bathtime, and we have been practicing saying letters while he bathes...I will show him a letter, say what it is, and he'll repeat it....we're still in the very early stages, but he can say "B", "D", and "R"...which is his favorite I think...although, when he says it, it sounds like "AWWWRRR"...
As for the Easter holiday, we got up early this morning and took Landon to church....this is the first time that we've been to this particular church, and the first time that Landon has ever been (except for his baptism). We think that he did a very good job...we ended up finding the "baby room", which is a place where people with kids can go to listen to the service but don't have to worry if their kids decide to be loud and crazy. While Landon wasn't all that loud, he did end up spending most of his time exploring and meeting the other children that were there. It was nice, as we got to listen to the service, and Landon got to play....I think we're going to go back for another service sometime soon.
After church, we got in a few hours of rest (I watched the Masters), and then we headed over to
my Aunt Lisa's house for an Easter-egg hunt and some family time. Although Landon basically skipped his nap, he was great....he played with the other kids, set out to explore Lisa's property, and even found some Easter eggs of his own. It ended up being a great day, and Landon was definitely a popular kid at that party.
Anyhow...it was a great Easter for us, and we hope you had a wonderful weekend as well. I did want to apologize for our lack of posts, but I think we're getting into a bit of a "once a week" routine...I know this might not be a ideal, but with Landon getting bigger and more active every day, we just seem to be running shorter on time...I think Michaela will continue to do her "Photo Fun" posts mid-week to keep things fresh.
In the meantime, I hope you all have a great week and check back in with us soon!
Happy Easter
