Another weekend is in the books. We had a pretty good weekend though. Saturday we ran a few errands and then went over to Landon's Grama Dawn's and Grampa Dennis' house to celebrate Dawn's birthday (which is actually today). Happy Birthday! While we were only there for a few hours, we still had fun playing games and visiting. Plus, Landon got to show off his crawling skills! Their dogs weren't really sure what to think of the new mobile Landon. He's about the same size as two of the dogs and 5 times the size of the smallest one - so they were on watch most of the time trying to stay out of his way!

In a previous post, Dustin mentioned that Landon hadn't quite figured out the step that goes from our entry way into the living room. Well, he finally did. Dustin left yesterday afternoon to get a quick haircut and almost as if Landon had been doing it for months, he crawled right over the step to the front door to see where Daddy had gone. Coming down was another story and wasn't quite as easy. Face plant! Luckily, it was on the carpet and it's a low stoop...so no harm done.
I've been wanting to get a few pictures of this up for a couple of weeks, because it always makes me laugh. Here is a picture of a few of Landon's favorite toys. Can you figure out in this picture
which is his FAVORITE of them all? Take a close look. See that small bin in the background in the kitchen. This is actually one of those popcorn bins that you see around the holidays that have the 3 flavors of popcorn. It has little lab puppies on it and for the past 4 years (after the popcorn was gone, of course) it has housed Guinness and Jack's dog biscuits. Well, this is Landon's favorite toy! He's fascinated with it. I'm not sure if it's the loud congo like noise it makes when he bangs on it, of if it's because he's seen me open it about a 1000 times and give whatever is it in to the boys. But, for some reason only known to him, he loves it. No matter where you put him in the kitchen or living room to play, it's only a matter of time before he's banging away on the treat bin. Now, for any of you who have ever met our dogs, you know their world revolves around food. Both dogs, sit quietly watching Landon bang on their treat bin secretly hoping he figures out how to open it! Guinness especially. You can see it in his eyes, willing Landon the strength to pry the lid off the bin. It's pretty comical and cracks me up every time. Especially because most of the time, neither one realizes they're being watched from the other side of the kitchen island. I think we're
all in trouble once Landon learns to open the bin! Our vet warned us of potential weight gain in dogs when a new baby comes into the family. I can see what she meant now!
Today was your (or our family's) typical Sunday. We went to the market and spent most of the day watching football. I was worried that Dustin was going to be on suicide watch for the next few hours because the Cowboys were not doing well and looked like they were going to be out of the playoffs. Both boys were sitting on the couch with their Romo jerseys on and sad faces. Landon's is probably more tired then anything, but Dustin was definitely freaking out!
Well, I guess the game is over and the Cowboys managed to pull out the victory...so Dustin is happy again and the Cowboys still have a chance to salvage their season.
We also made one of mine and Dustin's all time favorite meals tonight. Grape Leave
s and tabouli. It wasn't until we got a very bitter look from Landon's reaction to the tabouli that we remembered his palate probably wasn't ready for the fresh squeezed lemon! It was worth a shot though. Someday he'll love it.
