Hey All,Happy Mid-week to each and every one of you. It’s been a fairly quiet couple of days since our last post on Saturday. On Saturday night we went over to my Mom’s house and my sister Nicole made dinner for all of us. She doesn’t do it very often, but when she actually puts in the time on a meal, she is really quite the cook! It was a fun time and a really great meal.
We had Landon’s first visit to the lake with the dogs on Sunday, as our dogs haven’t been swimming in quite a long time. We hiked around a bit, and threw sticks
in the water for the boys to bring back to us. Guinness spent more time sniffing things out than swimming, but Jack couldn’t get enough of the lake. That dog is more fish than Labrador, but we were glad to see how happy it made him. Landon was fascinated with the whole thing, and I’m sure that next summer will be twice as fun when he’s able to throw the sticks in for them.
Other than that, we spent some time running errands this weekend, and we managed to load up on new clothes for the kid. Hopefully we’ll be able to take some pictures of him in his new gear soon. We hit up the Folsom Outlet stores for the clothes, and I must admit…it was pretty fun shopping for his stuff! Normally I’m not much of a shopper (I don’t know too many guys that are), but it was kind of fun going through and picking out stuff for Landon to wear. I can’t believe that I’m actually admitting this, as I’m sure Michaela will now try me on a weekly basis! It was a tad confusing shopping for him though, as baby clothes typically have the same sizes (0-6 months, 6-12, 12-18, etc), but each stores definition of these sizes are very different. In one store Landon will fit in the 6-12 months stuff, in another it's 12-18 months, and in some really weird places he's in the 18-24 months stuff! Now I know that he's a big kid for his age, but give me a break...there is just no way that he should be in stuff that is listed as 18-24 months...I mean, that's a 2 year old!!!
Landon also spent some time watching football with me on Sunday and Monday night…for those of you that missed it, the Cowboys vs. Eagles on Monday night football might have been the game of the year! It was awesome, and I’m proud to say that my Cowboys are now 2-0…woo hoo!!!
Landon is still very congested, and actually pretty fussy over the last few days. We have yet to see the 3rd tooth come in, so we don’t know if he’s actually a little sick, or if there is a new tooth coming in somewhere. It seems like since he has started daycare in late July, he’s been sick or congested pretty much the entire time! Now it was also a coincidence that he started teething at the same time, and I’m not really blaming daycare for all of it, but it sure has been tough on him (and us in turn). But he’s still a little trooper, and other than sleeping and eating, he hasn’t let it affect him too much.
The milestones that come to mind for him this week include a new food (green beans), and some standing/dancing. Landon has been eating sweet potatoes, squash, and bananas quite a bit…and he loves all of them! We tried some applesauce the other day and we got a really funny face from him…if you remember those commercials with the “Bitter Beer Face” from a few years back, that’s pretty much what we’re talking about. He gave us the same face when we tried apple juice as well. We’re assuming that it just tasted too sugary for him, so we’ll wait a while before trying the apples again. In the meantime, we decided to start him on green veggies now…and he is all over those green beans. Last night we were feeding them to him while we had our frozen yogurt at the dinner table. He’d watch Daddy take a bite, and then he’d take a bite…needless to say, he thought we were eating the same thing…boy would he be upset if he knew what I was enjoying! Anyhow, it’s been fun as we’ve continued to introduce new foods into his diet.
Landon’s legs have also gotten quite a bit stronger. He now really enjoys standing up, and doesn’t require us to hold him up anymore to do so. As long as he has something to hold on to, he’s perfectly fine standing there and looking around. He also does this little “twitch” that looks like he’s dancing…sort of an Elvis-type hip move….it’s hysterical and we’ll have to catch it on video…. He still hasn’t shown much of an interest in crawling, but he may just skip it altogether and go straight to walking…either way, it’s getting closer and we’re going to have think about baby-proofing our house pretty soon. Gulp!
We don’t have a lot of stuff planned for this weekend, so we should hopefully be able to take some fun pictures, and maybe a video or two. Next week is Landon’s (belated) 6-month doctor’s visit, where he’ll get another round of shots. While we’re not looking forward to the shots, we are anxious to see the doctor again. Not only are we curious as to what his actual weight and height measurements are, but we also want to talk to the Doc about what kinds of foods we can introduce into Landon’s diet. So far it has only been certain baby foods, but we’re hoping we can start him on some more fun things soon…we'll have to see what the doctor thinks...

We also bought Landon his very first DVD yesterday. Baby Einstein My First
Signs. It has basic sign language for things like "more", "eat", "drink" and "Mommy" and "Daddy". He seems to love it...and so does Guinness!
I think that about covers it for now. We’ll continue to post at least twice a week, and we’ll definitely post additional items if anything crazy comes up!
Thanks for reading and see you soon!

Hey guys, Landon is so adorable! It looks like he is having lots of fun all the time! Don't worry about him getting sick at daycare, it totally happened to us too, but it's kind of like they get it over with. It's either now, or when they start school at 5. Avery hasn't been sick in a long time ( I think because she got most everything before she was one!!) Anyway, have a great week!
