The Weekend Warrior

We hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was pretty low key, but very fun. Mostly, the days were filled with long walks, good meals, and wet dogs (as you can see). We thought we'd start off the post with a couple of pictures of the boys. The weather out here has been so nice (and hot) that we filled up their "mini pool" and Landon sat there and stared as these two jumped in and out of the water. They had a great time...boy do they miss our swimming pool!
Landon continues to stay awake for longer periods of time each day, so we're getting to know him better all the time. It is completely amazing to us that he is going to be 1 month old on Tuesday...can you believe it? It really does seem like yesterday when we were going out of our minds waiting for him to get here and now he's a month old...WOW.
As any new parent can attest, there is definitely a sharp learning curve when it comes to parenting. Neither Michaela or myself really had much exposure to infants beforehand and we were both terrified at the prospect of feeding/burping/changing or even holding the little one....oh how the tables have turned! After 4 short weeks we are throwing that kid around like a sack of potatoes (note to child protective services: That was a joke!). In all seriousness, we really have changed quite alot in the last month and just couldn't be happier.

Landon is such a happy and content baby. He really only fusses when he is hungry or uncomfortable...knock on wood....and although he doesn't sleep for very long stretches, he is able to hang in there long enough where neither Michaela or I are walking into walls the next day....if only we could get him to sleep in his crib for longer than a few minutes, we'd be set!

This afternoon we had my Mom and Dennis over and Skip grilled London Broil (which was awesome)....tomorrow night we're planning on Italian Sausages (another of my favorites)....that definitely has been one unexpected perk for me...so much great food that I'm actually gaining Michaela's pregnancy weight back...ouch.

I'm taking tomorrow off to spend with the family so I'll try to continue to take more pictures. Hope you all had a great weekend and we'll see you soon!
