The Latest and the Greatest

Well I woke up this morning to an empty house. My Mom and Steve left this morning around 5:30 for their trip back to Arizona. Everyone got in last minute hugs and kisses with Landon and said our good byes. We had a great time with them visiting and can't wait for them to come back!

The first few hours that Landon and I have had on our own have actually been quite eventful...Landon's umbilical cord finally fell off. Dustin and I heard that "on average" it can take 10-14 days after birth for it to come off. But of course, our son is anything but average, and it took 17 days. Needless to say, we are pretty excited about this news and can't wait for bath time tonight!

A few more updates - Landon had his 2 week checkup on the 1st of April. I can't believe we're past the two week mark already! It was a great visit and his Doctor said he looks fantastic. We couldn't agree more. He's growing like a weed and is weighing in at 7lbs 6oz now. I think he's making up for his "small" entrance into the world and is working hard at putting on the pounds. Eating every hour must be paying off! He's almost big enough to fit into the 0-3 month size clothing and we can move on from the newborn sizes.

Funny thing is, he hasn't really been able to fit into the "long john" style footed PJ's since he was born...his feet are too big for them and his little toes get cramped. It's actually funny because we had to cut the feet off of some of his PJ's so his toes aren't so squished! We have a feeling we're going to have a tall boy on our hands! This picture is fun because while his feet look small compared to Dustin's wedding ring, they really are quite big for his size!
Landon has also been spending more and more time awake lately too. Normally it's in the late afternoon. He's very alert and likes to look around the room. He's also starting to show more interest in Guinness and Jack. When they come up to him and give him kisses, he likes to reach for them. It's only a matter of time before he starts going for their ears!

Here's a fun picture showing how awake and alert he's been. His big eyes are so cute and we're still trying to guess the color they'll become. They are still blue, but we're thinking they're going towards a hazel color. We'll just have to wait and see! Hope everyone enjoys the pictures and updates, and we'll post more this weekend. Love to all!! M
