New Family Members

Hey All,

What a week it's been! Between babies and birthdays, rain and sunshine, work and play...it's been quite a week. So let's get to it!
First off, I'm going to discuss the pictures that accompany this post. We recently took Landon to the Picture People again (yes we love that place) for some "birthday pictures". We figured that it would be nice to have some fun "1-year old" shots of him. So we bought a plain white bedsheet, some "tighty whitey" diaper covers, and a blue cupcake...and let him go to town! After a few minutes it was clear to us that he had no interest in eating the cupcake, but he did enjoy feeling its texture, and making a mess with it. At one point he threw the cupcake, clapped it between his hands, and even stood on it. But he did have a great time, and many people ended up stopping as they passed the store in the mall to laugh and smile at the messy little kid. I also wanted to note that the cupcake was a bright blue, and ended up staining his skin for like a day...so we had our very own smurf running around the house for a while!

As for other baby news....I'm happy to announce that we had two new babies enter our extended family this week. Molly Jo McIntier was born on Wednesday, March 11th...weighing in at 8lbs, 7oz. Becca, Molly, and Jonny are all doing well and getting accustomed to the new arrival.

Michaela's cousin Justin and his wife Krista also welcomed a baby this week. Ty Harris is their second child, and he was born on March 12th, weighing 8lbs, 8oz. All of the family, including big sister Avery is doing great! Check out their blog at www.harrisfamhappenings.blogspot.com

As Landon was only a little over 6lbs when he was born, it sure seems like we are talking about a couple of big kids that made their presence known this week. We are so glad to hear that everyone is doing well. We've even managed to see a couple of pictures and the kids are beautiful.

Next up on the list is my cousin Bri, and then a few weeks later, my cousin Kristi is due. Good luck to both of you! :)

As you know, Landon's 1st birthday is this coming Wednesday, March 18th. We had a party for him this past Saturday, which deserves its own post, so look for that a little later.

This weekend we were able to see a ton of friends and family, including some relatives from Arizona: Nana Rachael, Grandpas Skip and Steve, and Great-Grandma June. It's been great to hang out with them these past few days, and while it was a short trip, they got to see how big Landon's getting, as well as watch him perform some of his new tricks.

On a personal note, I'm WAAAY pumped to say that my alma mater, University of Arizona, made the NCAA tournament for the 25th consecutive year! It really looked in doubt as of this morning, and there are quite a few people who think we shouldn't be in this year, but we are...so our streak remains intact and I am extremely excited to see if we can make some noise before this thing is said and done!

As I said above, we'll have another post soon with details about Landon's birthday party. I think I'll sign off for now. We get a few more hours to share with Skip and June before they head out tomorrow. Have a great start to the work week and remember that there is college basketball to look forward to, starting Thursday! Go UofA!!!!
