Fall Has Arrived

I think it’s pretty safe to say that the hot days of summer are behind us. Fall is officially here. The weather has been beautiful and we’ve had our house completely open and the breeze from the windows is perfect. Even the leaves are starting to change to reds and oranges. This is such a pretty time of year. One that we never really had living in Arizona with the desert. Hopefully we’ll get a good month or two of this before the winter rains start. Landon had fun discovering the new items littering our backyard!

Unfortunately, the weekend is over and it’s back to the work week. Here’s a small recap... On Saturday the 3 of us drove up to Auburn and walked around the local shops and enjoyed a nice lunch. We had lunch at a fun little brewery and had very tasty hamburgers and a locally brewed beer! Dustin and I did anyway…Landon just hung out with us. Although he did get a little taste of a piece of avocado. I’m not sure he really liked it though! After lunch, we wandered around a few of the shops before heading home. Dustin and I had quite a few laughs reading some of the sayings on some magnets we found. Hilarious, but very inappropriate for this blog!

After the drive to Auburn, we headed back home for an afternoon nap. Landon has become very good at taking naps. On the weekends, in the afternoon, he’ll sleep anywhere from 1.5 – 3 hours! Sometimes I even indulge and take a nap with him!

Saturday night we joined Dustin’s family for dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. Scott’s Seafood. October 2nd, marked the 5th anniversary of when Dustin’s Grandmother “Tata” passed away and Scott’s was one of her favorite restaurants too. So we all got dressed up and went out to dinner her in honor. Landon even got dressed up. Doesn't he look handsome in his Ralph Lauren duds? He looked pretty darn cute and everyone who saw him at the restaurant wanted to say so too! In case you're wondering why his face is all shiny, we've been using Aquafor (which is a cream) for his face to help with the rash that he gets from drooling...the stuff really works and as of today, his rash is gone. :)

Sunday was your typical football day of hanging out and relaxing…on top of all the laundry and mourning the end of the weekend.

We should have a pretty good week though and hopefully the weekend will be here again soon. Tonight Dustin and I have to attend a class at our local church for “Baptism Preparation”. For those who do not know, we are having Landon baptized when we go home to Arizona over Christmas. Then, tomorrow (for those who don’t remember!!) is our 2nd wedding anniversary. We’re not sure what we’re doing as it’s in the middle of the week, but I’m sure we’ll do something special.

That’s basically our weekend in a nutshell. Hope you all had a great weekend too! Check back soon for another update! Love, Michaela, Dustin & Landon
